As owner of Pure Salon, Kyla Huckabay is here to make sure that everything about your visit is perfect. Your decision to visit us is a choice that we deeply appreciate. Kyla constantly strives to deliver the best services and products available in the Federal Way area. She has passion, energy and a love for all things in our industry. A thirst for knowledge and the desire to share it with others has been the driving force in her 20+ year career. Kyla believes that education is the key to all success - be it with her guests behind the chair, or when interacting with other artists.

Kyla is an RHC Certified Hair Colorist and has been a member of the Pureology Artistic Team for over 20 years. As a member of this team Kyla divides her time between servicing her guests and educating her team at Pure Salon, and inspiring salon professionals across the country as a National Platform Artist and Global Mentor. In addition to her work at Pure Salon, Kyla travels the country as a Pureology Artist and member of the Global Mentorship team - an educator who helps identify new hair trends and teach new techniques to stylists.

Fierce Expression Collection Capturing the powerful duality of fierce expression and unapologetic vulnerability inspired this photo shoot by a team of formidable Seattle-area artists. Chemistry Creative hair team joined forces with photographer Init St. Clair to create a visual narrative highlighting the beauty of strong women in both bold and quiet moments. The creative result highlights that sometimes in our moments of stillness, we find our greatest strength. Chemistry Creative, an artistic cooperative, is a collaboration between salon owners Mandy McCullough (Fix Salon; Seattle, WA), Jody Erickson (The Boulevard Salon; Renton, WA), and Kyla Huckabay (Pure Salon; Federal Way, WA). Their focus is to showcase hair talent in the Pacific Northwest through illustrative photo shoots and video.In an effort to expand to new media formats, photographer Inti St. Clair created a companion video. This video gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at Chemistry Creative’s process, from conceptualizing the looks to capturing the final shoot. The audience not only gets to see the end result, they get to experience the journey it took to get there. In addition to being salon owners and stylists, Mandy and Jody are National Educators for Redken 5th Ave, and Kyla is a National Educator for Purelogy Serious Colour Care. They travel across the country to identify and translate current hair trends into inspiration for their work.

Style may change with the season, but the magic of glamour lies in its timelessness. For their latest project, Creative Chemistry blended classic Hollywood glamour with modern organic style. Inspired by the waves and curls of the 30's and 40's, which were coifed and impeccably finished, the artistic team added texture and a touch of unruliness to the silhouettes for an updated feel.
